Disney’s latest live-action remake of Snow White has had a rough ride at the box office, earning just $43 million in its opening weekend against a massive $270 million budget. Branded as “Snow Woke” by critics due to its diverse casting and modernised approach, the film has sparked heated debates across political and social lines. However, in a surprising twist, box office data suggests Snow White performed better in Republican-leaning states than in traditionally liberal ones. According to analytics firm EntTelligence, family movies typically see 63% of their revenue from Democrat-supporting areas and 37% from Republican regions, but Snow White saw 40% of ticket sales in red states, outpacing expectations. The film’s highest-grossing cinema was in Florida—home to Disney’s long-running political feud with Governor Ron DeSantis. It also did well in Latino-heavy cities like Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix, despite controversy over Rachel Zegler’s casting as the princess.
