GOP Jan. 6 probe whistleblowers

Four whistleblowers are set to testify Wednesday before a House panel spearheading the GOP’s investigation of the previous Dem-led Jan. 6 committee’s work. The House Administration Committee’s oversight panel, led by Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), is holding a hearing Wednesday on the military’s response on Jan. 6. One of the witnesses previously sent a memo to the Jan. 6 Committee accusing two senior leaders of lying to Congress, and they are expected to contradict previous statements by the Army in Wednesday’s hearing. The witnesses, first shared with POLITICO, are: Col. Earl Matthews, chief legal adviser, D.C. Army National Guard Sgt. Maj. Michael Brooks, senior enlisted officer, D.C. Army National Guard Cap. Timothy Nick, aide-de-camp, D.C. Army National Guard Brigadier Gen. Aaron Dean, adjutant general, D.C. Army National Guard
